Four Horseman of the Apocalypse

stylized version of four horsemen of the apocalypse
The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse are described in the Book of Revelations which is the last book of the New Testament and are said to be the harbingers of Judgement Day.

The four horseman of the Apocalypse are described in the last book of the bible, the Book of Revelation. This description is a mere eight verses, but these eight verses are arguably among the ones that really stick when you learn about them.

The horseman appeared after four of the seven seals on the scroll from God were opened by the Lamb (Jesus). As each seal was opened, a man on a horse of a different color appeared before him from each end of the compass, signifying the entirety of the earth. The first of the men came on a white horse - associated with conquest, this first white horse can be argued that it represents a side of evil, or a side of righteousness.

The second man arrived with a sword in hand on a fiery red horse. This red horse signifies war, or slaughter. The red horse and the man's sword signifies bloodshed.

Next was a man on a black horse, usually interpreted as representing famine. He arrives with a pair of scales, because the weight of wheat and barley during a famine is vital. The black can represent dried up, burned and rotten food.

Last was a man that arrived on a pale green horse. This was a sign of death, and this was the only horseman who was given a name. The pale green signifies the color of a sickly person's skin. Following behind Death is Hades, because Hades followed death.

Pre-Arrangement

Dying is one of the few events in life that's certain to occur, yet one we rarely plan for. Should we spend more time preparing for a two week vacation than we do our last days on Earth?
